The New York Times returned to the IAB NewFronts this year with a live show for the first time since 2019. Designed and produced by Agenc, the experience highlighted the breadth of the Times’ portfolio, including News, Games, Cooking, Wirecutter, and The Athletic through bold stage design, interactive brand touchpoints, and impactful storytelling. The event brought publishers, advertisers, and media leaders together under one roof to explore the future of media and partnerships.

THE CHALLENGE

Reintroduce the New York Times at the Newfronts and showcase their diverse portfolio

After a five-year break from hosting a live NewFronts presentation, The New York Times needed a way to reintroduce itself on stage with impact. The challenge was to design a live experience that matched the prestige of the NYT brand and also showcased its diverse portfolio of news, cooking, games, Wirecutter, and The Athletic in a way that resonated with advertisers and media buyers. The event had to balance editorial integrity with advertiser appeal, re-establish The Times as a leader in media, and deliver a high-production show worthy of its first return since 2019.
